Fighting Words is a writing centre for children and young people. It was founded, here in Dublin, by myself and Sean Love. Since we opened in early 2009, thousands of children have been through the door, getting them to go home again has often been a problem. Everything we do is free. The ten writers in this book - ten of the best, and best loved, writers in the world - were like those children and young people once. They too felt the urge to shout, on the page. They felt the same exhilaration and anxiety, the same love of words and stories, the same excitement at starting, the determination to finish. That is why they are in this book.
All proceeds go to the Fighting Words charity. For enquiries contact mail@stoneyroadpress.com.
